Celebrating Summer Solstice Through Yoga & Mindfulness

Join us for this wonderful magical day of Summer Solstice Celebrations welcoming the light and honouring the darkness!

Summer Solstice falls on the 21st of June which is also a well celebrated International Yoga Day!


On this day we celebrate the connection to the sun, the warmth and the balance between the light and the dark, honouring both with respect!


The first practice of the day is a string of mindful flows with some longer held postures in between to allow for a gentle cool down. The Sun is connected to our solar plexus, 3rd chakra, hence the focus is on core strength as well as chest/heart openers. Creative Sun Salutations as well as postures and flows to facilitate creating more space around chest and upper body will be introduced into the Practice.


The second part of the session will see a relaxing Yin Yoga Practice to soothe the body and mind, offering gentle yet effective stretch and a drop of mindfulness with 10 minutes of Yoga Nidra at the end. We will work on Yin postures associated with solar plexus, throat and root chakras. A little bit of Soundbath will be introduced to accompany the Yin Yoga Practice working a bit deeper on activating those energy centres and allowing for a deeper connection with your inner self.
